1:1 Therapy
I believe in the transformative power of long-term psychotherapy. This process involves a significant commitment of time and effort from both the therapist and the client, and provides the opportunity for connection and healing, that allows us to access the deepest sources of our pain, fears, hopes and dreams.
My goal is to create a place where clients can feel safe and brave (credit to my supervisor Emma Diamond), through offering presence, non-judgment, empathy and unconditional positive regard (the therapist’s form of unconditional love) to all the people I work with. This commitment can look different for everyone, but ideally the client will commit to a regular time and day once a week, fortnight or month, for an extended period of at least 3-12 months.
When working with children and adolescents I believe in having regular engagement and involvement with parents and caregivers to ensure the best results for the primary client and their whole family, while maintaining respect and safety of all involved, with the primary client (child) at the centre.
